More than 75% of parents are keen to help their children financially through University or higher education, expecting to contribute some nine thousand pounds (£9000) to save their loved ones falling into debt. But when it comes down to it how do you fund the education of your kids?
From research, student expectation of their parents to help out is much lower, however, than the reality. Only 43% expect any kind of financial help at all and of those who do hope for some support they anticipate four thousand pounds (£4000), far less than 50% of the actual amount their parents intended to offer.
Students are more prepared than ever for the financial stress of higher education with some 80%+ having a part time job and 90% working full time during the holidays according to recent research.
